About ALYCIA BUENGER.

Hi, I’m Alycia — Writer, Yoga Teacher, Ethical Marketing Educator.

I help busy people slow down and thrive outside the lines of conventional work-life.

I have always been a sensitive soul, desperately unhurried in a fast-paced world. I don't like feeling rushed.

In 2013, I moved to slow-paced Nicaragua for academic research, first to an artisanal town outside the capital city and then to a coffee-growing community in the mountains. The following year I graduated with a degree in Culture Studies, a thesis about fair trade producers (and women who sustain their communities) — and I became a single mother.

My sense of time shifted to envelop the languid pace of a sleepy baby, then the curious nature of a toddler. The rush of my academic work collided with my desire for something slower and simpler — for me and my family.

A few years later, I married my love. We had a second daughter — and then we learned that my husband has chronic illness that will possibly get better or worse throughout his lifetime.

I spent a lot of time feeling overwhelmed by the responsibility of supporting my family — as someone who battles inconsistent time and energy.

But I’m whole-heartedly devoted to countercultural alternatives to ‘success.’ I reject our modern drive toward busyness and overwhelm.

I stand firm in the belief that slow and conscious living doesn’t mean dropping the important stuff. It’s about presence & connection — with ourselves and each other.

Since 2010, I've worked in ethical marketing and studied the cultural implications of a creative economy without it. As a mother and an artist of words, I've stumbled my way through to prioritize mindbody wellness under the reign of capitalism.

But I’ve learned that working solo is not the fool-proof solution to getting free.

If we're not careful, thoughtful, and conscious, we’ll build our ethical, heart-centered businesses parallel to the unhealthy ways of patriarchal culture.

I believe we're on the cusp of a cultural reawakening to collective action for holistic wellness and community care. It only requires our most precious resources: time, energy, and attention.

To that end, I’m committed to the dance of —

  • Redefining work-life structures to be sacred containers for balanced growth

  • Reprioritizing the body to create from a sense of nourishment

  • Reframing values-driven entrepreneurship to encourage and create wellness-first frameworks for sustainable energy and income

The question that guides my work now is this:

How can we live, work, and be well in modern times — for ourselves and each other?

I look to the women, past and present, who have worked to answer this question time and again.

In 2020, I set out to make embodied sales and marketing support more accessible to creative solos.

Most of us need more than an online course but less than a $5K coaching package. We need embodied education and collaborative support.

I work with an energy-aligned modality to help us nourish the mindbody so we can engage with creative tension and prioritize what we need to be and work well.

I use yoga therapeutics, embodied rest, and the ritual of reflection within my 1:1 programs and online studio, including:
