About ALYCIA BUENGER.
Hi, I’m Alycia — Writer, Yoga Teacher, Ethical Marketing Educator.
I help people thrive outside the lines of conventional work-life.
I'm also a mother of two young kids and a graduate student. I research and write about the popularization of countercultural movements (like fair trade, alternative education, and slow living).
I have always been a sensitive soul, desperately unhurried in a fast-paced world. I don't like feeling rushed.
In 2013, I moved to slow-paced Nicaragua for academic research, first to an artisanal town outside the capital city and then to a coffee-growing community in the mountains. The following year I graduated with a degree in Culture Studies — and I became a single mother.
My sense of time shifted to envelop the languid pace of a sleepy baby, then the curious nature of a toddler. The rush of my academic work collided with my desire for something slower and simpler — for me and my family.
In the last decade of building my body of work, I’ve discovered that working for myself not the (complete) answer to getting free from strict and fast-paced structures for modern work life. If we're not careful (thoughtful and conscious), we’ll build our ethical, heart-centered businesses parallel to the unhealthy ways of patriarchal culture.
Rather, I’m committed to the dance of —
Redefining work-life structures to be sacred containers for balanced growth
Reprioritizing the body to create from a sense of nourishment
Reframing values-driven entrepreneurship to encourage and create wellness-first frameworks for sustainable energy and income
The question that guides my work now is this:
How can we live, work, and be well in modern times — for ourselves and each other?
You can read more about my mission and methodology here.
I work with an energy-aligned modality to help us nourish our mindbody so we can engage with creative tension and prioritize what we need to be and work well.
I offer:
Private Yoga Sessions (in-person and online)
Sales Copy Consults (with hands-on support)
Nourish(Ed) Studios — an online studio with embodied education to replenish creative energy & ritualize the practice (launching June 21!)
My work is playful: I don't tell you what to do or how to be.
I invite all both to get curious — to engage and explore anatomy-informed embodiment; to consider external and internal cues, ancient and modern wisdom; and to ritualize the practice of conscious movement, rest, and reflection.
My work might be for you if:
You like to go deep (and you don’t mind an academic lens alongside embodiment work)
You like to color outside the lines of conventional thinking and make your own way (with special attention to accessibility)
You don't fit conventional norms of 'success' (but you’re tired of drowning in systems that don’t support you well)
